After Ministry of External Affairs admitted that one pilot of Indian Air Force has gone missing in action after an engagement with a Pakistan Air Force fighter jet, Pakistan claimed that it has captured one pilot and soon released a video showing him in their custody. The initial videos and images showed him bruised and bleeding from his face as he gave his name and service code to his Pakistani captors. While maintaining a cool composure and politeness, he identified himself as IAF pilot, Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. When asked about more information regarding his mission, he said this is the only information he can reveal.
Soon in a second video, the 38-year-old Indian with a handlebar moustache, showed up again later in the day, as he sipped tea from a mug, and face cleaned up by now.
In the second video, a Pakistani Army officer asks him, if he had been treated well, to which Abhinandan replied:
“Yes, I have and I’d like to put this on record. And I will not change my statement if I go back to my country also: the officers of the Pakistani Army have looked after me very well—they’re thorough gentlemen, starting from the captain who rescued me from the mob, and from his soldiers and thereafter the officers in the unit that I was taken into. This is what I would expect my army to behave as.”
Meanwhile, the bravery and courage showed by Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman has united the whole country to speak in one voice and demand his release. While almost everyone is praying for the safe release of Abhinandan, there is one section of Twitterati who is blaming the Indian media for revealing his details. Check out these comments:
Wing Commander Abhinandan refused to tell the name of his city or state to Pakistan military despite being a captive. Displayed remarkable poise & fortitude. But our media has revealed his city, address of his home, details & history of his entire family. How thoughtless & inane.

Who is wrng or right is diffrnt.
But the poise & grace shown by this Pilot will trump all the poise & grace of these bloody warmongering media houses collectively. Period.— Shah Waqar (@Dastaannn) February 27, 2019
Soldiers have a code. They follow it. Media only cares about ratings. This conflict our two countries are in. Media has fanned the flames not tried to put them out

And that’s only to name one of the stupidities they’ve committed in the last few days. Frothing & screaming for war when it’s not them but soldiers like Abhinandan & their families on both side of the line who’ll suffer. Next to no investigative reporting of how Pulwama happened.

Indian media should be stopped and warned not to cross limits. Especially at this crucial moment.
They should not disclose something like who is Abhinandan Varthaman’s father and other family details.
