Each year we are saddened by the news of the demise of many great personalities. No one expected 2019 to be different, but there is no denying the fact that the news of death always brings with it a wave of shock and sadness. As we are standing on the first day of 2019, the news of the demise of veteran actor Kader Khan is certainly saddening. Born in 1937, this actor-writer passed away in Canada at the age of 81.
The actor was hospitalized in Canada because of breathlessness and was put on ventilation. His son Sarfaraz confirmed the news of his death and that the last rites will be performed in Canada.
This is what he said to PTI:
“My dad has left us. He passed away on December 31 at 6 pm as per Canadian time due to prolonged illness. He slipped into coma in the afternoon. He was in the hospital for 16-17 weeks. The last rites will be performed here in Canada only. We have our entire family here and we live here so we are doing.”
The reports suggested that he was suffering from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. It is a degenerative disease that causes dementia, walking disabilities, and loss of balance. He passed away after suffering from a prolonged illness.
Kader Khan acted in more than 300 films and he also wrote dialogues for 250 more. With many hits to his name, he collaborated with many great artists in his lifetime. In a career of over 45 years, he has been part of many hit movies. Some of them are Judwaa, Aankhen, Haseena Maan Jaayegi, Khoon Bhari Maang, Saajan Chale Sasural, Hum, Sikka, and Coolie No. 1.
